To impart market-oriented skills to youth from underprivileged and economically weaker sections.
To generate livelihoods out of the skills learnt through placement support.
To improve their soft skills and workplace readiness.

Introduction

Nirmaan Organization has been providing free business training for poor and needy women at Hadapsar, Bhekrai Nagar in Pune form the past four and a half years. This is helping women to get self-employment. Nirmaan Organization is working on the principle of "learn and earn" for women. This program was initiated with the objective to train women from underprivileged communities as per market requirements and enhance their learning and employment potential and help them achieve their career goals thereby paving the right direction for a better future and improving their quality of life.

Project AVANTI : Project AVANTI (Women Skill Development Program) was developed in 2010 with an aim to provide skills and build confidence of women from economically weaker families, thereby leading to their economic and social independence. Having a vision for holistic advancement of a woman, AVANTI has prepared an integrated approach for support through ‘TRAIN – TRANSFORM – TRIUMPH’...
TRAIN : Train women on various market-oriented courses.
TRANSFORM : Conduct life-skills workshops on multiple aspects along the lines of social, personality and career orientation like financial literacy, health & hygiene, child care etc.
TRIUMPH : Hand holding women during job placement and market linkages and support them post training as well with periodic review.

Program Description

Need Assessment : Before initiation of the project, Nirmaan will conduct a detailed need assessment and area mapping in and around the target location, and this data will form the baseline for the short-term and long-term project planning.
Personalized Job Counseling : Dedicated and trained counselors will provide job counseling to all beneficiaries who come to the center and direct them to further skilling or placement depending on their current capability and requirements.
Placements Support : Nirmaan will support Women in getting placed in relevant job roles through various activities like networking with potential employers, resume building exercises, job fair, mock interviews etc.

Harita is a student of tailoring she came to know about this course from her sister then she took admission.Initially she didn't know anything about tailoring she couldn't operate a machine but she started learning slowly then she learned embroidery. She got interested in embroidery. She started designing very beautiful embroidery .After that slip ,simple top, mask she is stitching all the patterns very well and she feels great doing it all. The family she belongs to doesn't allow girls to work outside the home and her dream is to start her own business very well and become self-reliant and inspire the other girls .She thanked Nirmaan and ADP for her success. I came to know about the Nirman organization from my friend. My friend herself brought me to the class. I got very good information about the class. After that I got the batch of April.Doctor said that my head got swollen while doing class. After that my training started but I was still in class. But the doctor said you need rest. So I could not complete the class in that batch. And dropped saying that I will join the next batch. And again joined the August batch. And now I have decided that no matter what happens, I will complete the class. When it came to tailoring class, I knew nothing from holding tape to holding fabric. Even when I learned this, I was very happy that I can measure cloth today. Now I created many types of patterns like embroidery, slip, frock pattern, neck pattern. To do this madam told us that if you learn this pattern with your heart, you can create very nice patterns. Be determined that you want it to happen.You can do it We also got success from this. When creating different types of designs, it felt like we could do a lot. There is no age requirement if you want to work or study. So only your will power should be big and you should take time for that work. So we can do any work and achieve success. I now feel that I can do anything, my confidence has increased after coming here. I have decided to make this my career. I am doing my work very sincerely. I am very thankful to the Nirmaan Organization. The staff here is also very nice. Women's wishes are fulfilled by coming here. This class is also very important for women.
