The situation called for an urgent intervention to support our overwhelmed Public Health Care system. EPAM Systems did just that ! EPAM Systems, along with Nirmaan Organization as their NGO partner, chalked out a comprehensive plan to support the critical requirements of Government Hospitals across the 3 cities of Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Pune. COVID-19 Wave I has had a devastating impact and has put tremendous stress on the public healthcare system. With the support of EPAM Systems, we at Nirmaan Organization, along with our execution partner, S.P.A.R.K NGO have been able to support 2 hospitals in Bangalore with critical medical equipment and supplies, needed to support patients not just during the wave II but also any subsequent waves. - Government COVID Care Center at CV Ramanagar: We procured high quality equipment to support the immediate initiation of the COVID care services for the local underprivileged. Their most urgent requirement was for patient beds, specifically fowler beds, and we were able to provide a total of 9 beds. The beds were completely set up, including all ancillary equipment for immediate use and after sales services. - Government General Hospital, KR Puram: We distributed PPE Kits, Oxygen Masks ets. for supporting the hospital staff in catering to the large numbers of COVID affected patients while ensuring sufficient protection to their medical staff. Additionally, the hospital had a lot of backlog for testing and vaccination documentation, so we provided computers and laptops to help in digitizing these facilities. We are deeply grateful to EPAM Systems for extending this critical support to save lives in Bangalore.
ServiceNow has launched a prestigious project, Village Adoption Program & adopted Chinchughat (Divyaguda) village, Adilabad district, a 100% PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group) village, inhabited by Thottis tribe. Nirmaan Organization is the Impact Partner. Faced with negative population growth rate, a pre-agricultural system of existence, extremely low levels of literacy & subsistence, PVTGs are in urgent need for support. With active participation of community & local officials, we identified the needs & designed a 3-year development plan for Health, Education, Livelihoods & Cultural Preservation. As the first step, we are building a Community Center to encourage adult literacy, digital literacy & cultural activities. To bring this dream to fruition, we have partnered with Architude, through WE Hub. ServiceNow is the first Corporate to have signed up for this ambitious project. It is rare to find partners who support a project >350 km away from their location. Thank you ServiceNow!
PVTGs, or Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups, are among the most oppressed communities in our country. Governments have been running specific programs to improve their overall development indices including population growth. One such PVTG is the #Thotti tribe, who reside in the remote locations of #Adilabad and other regions in Telangana state. Through the enthusiastic and generous support of ServiceNow, we at Nirmaan Organization, got an opportunity to work with the villages of #Chinchughat on four focus areas of #Education, #Health, #Livelihoods and #CulturalPreservation. I am happy to share that on 17th July, we inaugurated the Community Learning cum Cultural Center at Chinchughat in the hands of Ms. Sowmya Chakilam. This center has been built using sustainable technology, keeping in mind the needs and requirements of the community. This center will serve as their #culturalarena, #digital/ #computerlab, #Anganwadi and we hope it will take up many more roles as the community utilizes the space. We are grateful to ServiceNow for supporting this impactful program, which will continue to bear fruits for years to come, not only for the future of the community but in preserving the rich cultural traditions and arts of the tribe.
COVID-19 has had a tremendous impact on the #education of the next generation. We, at Nirmaan Organization, are grateful to HSBC Technology India for empowering 105 students across 2 government schools - #ZPHSPochampally and #ZPHSMajeedia in Telangana with tablets with internet connection to continue with the learning. The recent study by UNESCO shared that the closure of schools due to COVID has impacted 247 million children in elementary and secondary schools across India. This has also exacerbated the stark #educationinequality in the country between 'haves' and 'have-nots'. While #onlineeducation became a norm, 3 out of 4 children didn't have any access to digital devices or internet connectivity. Due to these constraints clubbed with the families' financial difficulties, many children have started working or in case of girls, getting married. Experts suggest that the longer the gap in learning, the more disinterested the children get and might eventually exit the education system altogether. Through this support from HSBC, we were able to ensure that these 105 students, with focus on girl students, have continued their learning and have stayed in the education system. Now with the opening of the schools, we will be utilizing these devices to #digitize the schools and introduce #blendedlearning. Looking forward to the next phase of impact together!
