Empowering 105 students across 2 government Schools ZPHSPochampally and ZPHSMajeedia in Telangana with tablets with Internet

 March 17, 2022

COVID-19 has had a tremendous impact on the #education of the next generation. We, at Nirmaan Organization, are grateful to HSBC Technology India for empowering 105 students across 2 government schools - #ZPHSPochampally and #ZPHSMajeedia in Telangana with tablets with internet connection to continue with the learning. The recent study by UNESCO shared that the closure of schools due to COVID has impacted 247 million children in elementary and secondary schools across India. This has also exacerbated the stark #educationinequality in the country between 'haves' and 'have-nots'. While #onlineeducation became a norm, 3 out of 4 children didn't have any access to digital devices or internet connectivity. Due to these constraints clubbed with the families' financial difficulties, many children have started working or in case of girls, getting married. Experts suggest that the longer the gap in learning, the more disinterested the children get and might eventually exit the education system altogether. Through this support from HSBC, we were able to ensure that these 105 students, with focus on girl students, have continued their learning and have stayed in the education system. Now with the opening of the schools, we will be utilizing these devices to #digitize the schools and introduce #blendedlearning. Looking forward to the next phase of impact together!
