Women Trained
Women Started Micro-businesses
In India, only 32.8% of women are part of the labor force, leaving millions, especially from low-income and rural communities without access to stable livelihoods or economic independence. The Vocational Training Program by Nirmaan provides hands-on training in market-relevant trades such as tailoring, beautician skills, jewelry making, and micro-entrepreneurship.
Through mentorship, mobilization, and access to enterprise support, the program enables women to gain livelihoods, enhance self-worth, and become micro-entrepreneurs.

One-on-one support with career guidance and inspiring local role models
Spreading awareness through SHGs and grassroots outreach initiatives
Recruitment drives, business guidance, microfinance linkages, and market access
I learned tailoring at Nirmaan in 2019 and later worked as an assistant trainer. With their support, I started my own unit, Star Enterprises. Even after losing my husband, Nirmaan stood by me, providing a sewing machine, vendor linkages, and constant encouragement. Today, I employ seven women and support my three children. Im proud to stand on my own feet, thanks to Nirmaan.
