Building a Sustainable Future: One Paper Bag at a Time!

Did you know? Plastic takes up to 1,000 years to decompose, polluting our land and oceans, harming wildlife, and even entering our food chain! It's time to make a change!

On February 25th & 26th, HSBC Technology India, in collaboration with Nirmaan, took a significant step towards a plastic-free future! Across Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune, 540 dedicated volunteers came together to handcraft 1,070 eco-friendly paper bags, replacing plastic and promoting sustainability.

These handcrafted bags will be distributed to Anganwadis, ensuring that sustainability meets community impact!

We sincerely thank HSBC, the HSBC CSR Champions BHARAT KUMAR NARALASETTY, Lavanya Musunuri & Nikhil Poduval and all the volunteers for making this initiative a success.

HSBC Software Development India Inaugurates Women In Tech (WIT) Skill Center in Bengaluru

Marking a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to empower women with skills and enhance their employability, HSBC Software Development India successfully inaugurated the Women In Tech (WIT) Skill Center at Bommanahalli, Bengaluru, on January 17, 2025. As an enabling partner for this skill center, the project will provide skilling training to 370 women in two years and provide placement opportunities to 260 women. Key leadership from HSBC - Bidisha Dutta, Pradeep Venkata Subramaniam, Poornimadevi P, Deepika Sandeep, along with delegates from the government, Mr. Nanjundaiah KM, Superintendent of the Social Welfare Department, Nirmaan's Board of Director Vineet Saxena, Global Head of Fraud and Credit Control Services; and Mayur Patnala Kankanala (India/Bharat), Founder and Global CEO of Nirmaan.org, attended the ceremony. Following the inauguration, we held insightful sessions for the students, including course completion certificate distribution and engaging talks with industry experts. We extend our sincere thanks to HSBC and its leadership for this significant step in establishing a skill center to empower youth with skills and employability.

Nirmaan Organized an Organic Gardening Activity at the HSBC Technology Pune office

Celebrating Environment Day 2024! As part of the Spectrum initiative, the Nirmaan organization organized an organic gardening activity at the HSBC Technology Pune office on 6th June. The event was honored by the presence of HSBC leadership and featured 12 students from Pratibha Pawar School who joined us in this green initiative. Under the guidance of expert Neha Joshi, the focus was on organic practices to promote healthier soil and support biodiversity. We extend our gratitude to HSBC’s leadership for their enthusiastic participation! The event saw interactive sessions between the children and the leaders, and the event concluded with special giveaways being distributed. 60 grow bags were also distributed to Koradavahu FPO, extending benefits to the farming community. We sincerely thank the leadership of HSBC for the opportunity to be part of this prestigious event.

Pragati Santosh Tilak is a brilliant student studying in 9th standard at Karamveer Bhausaheb Hire School, Pune. She lost her father at an early age and her mother works in a hospital and runs the household. Pragati was very keen on learning the computer but due to financial constraints, she could not pursue her passion. After the inauguration of the Digital Lab supported by HSBC Software Development India and NirmaanOrganization, Pragati has gotten an opportunity to gain knowledge on computers and fulfill her passion. She is thankful to both the organizations for the set-up of this digital lab which will help many such students like her to access digital knowledge and information.

Nirmaan Collaboration with HSBC has Set up a Women SkillDevelopment-Center

Nirmaan organization in collaboration with HSBC Technology India has set up a Women SkillDevelopmentCenter in Wadarwadi Shivaji Nagar, Pune for women from unprivileged backgrounds. We are aiming to provide training in tailoring & beautician courses to 220 women through this center. The center inauguration was done at the hands of @Girish Bidani, MRICS, FRICS, @Damini Khaire, and @Mr. Mayur Patnala, CEO of Nirmaan, @Ms. Uma kesani, COO of Nirmaan @HSBCIndia Thank you HTI for your support.

Success Story of Sayali Randhir- VTC Pune

Sayali Randhir enrolled in Beauty Parlor Course at Nirmaan Organization VTC Center Shivaji Nagar Pune. I am currently studying for FY Bcom this year. I have my mother at home, I don't have a father, my mother earns 11000 thousand per month from her work. The situation at home is very bad so I need to earn money. I want to complete my education and I want to stand on my feet. I have joined a beauty parlor course so I am taking mehendi and parlor orders. I have received various orders like face massages, and haircuts, and I also get mehendi orders regularly. recently i have done Marathi Serial actor Ms. Bhargavi Chirmule of Marathi serials also calls me for mehendi. She was very happy to talk about the very nice mehendi design. My monthly earned income through this was 5000 to 9000 rupees. I am going to go ahead and start my own beauty parlor center with this opportunity Nirmaan has given me. And stand on my own feet and run to my house. Thanks to Nirmaan all this is possible only because of HSBC Company and Nirman Organization.

My name is Bhagyashree Cariappa Shivagi. I am 29 years old. I studied till the 9th standard. I enrolled for the parlour course at Nirmaan Organisation.My father passed away when I was little. I completed my further education with the help of my mother. I am living with my grandparents, mother, uncle, aunt and 2 brothers. My economic situation is very bad. I first learned tailoring and then worked at home. Then also I couldn't fulfill my basic needs. One day my friend told me about the Nirmaan Organisation. She told me they are giving free beautician and tailoring courses. I am interested in the subject of beauty. So, I decided to take admission to the beautician course. I have to face a lot of problems to come regularly to classes. I never went out of my house but now I go to attend classes. The distance is long from my house to the centre, almost an hour by walk. I was facing lots of problems, but I overcame all the problems and decided to complete my course very sincerely. Now it's completed, I learned a lot of things like hairstyle, saree dressings, haircut and I believe I will be a good beautician. I will work and after a few years, I will open my own beauty parlour. I am thanking Nirmaan Organisation for giving me this chance to complete my dreams. I thank my trainers, organisers and donor HSBC for giving me this golden opportunity and many more ladies like me. Motivational session by HSBC volunteers

In this session, the volunteers from HSBC shared information on gender equality. They also stressed the fact that there is no work that women cannot do. Nowadays, women can do any work in any field. There are women workers in all fields, like firefighters, nurses, personal security, big factories, and washing centers to name a few. Women have the right to live as they want and dress as they want. All this was said in this session. This session instilled confidence among the women beneficiaries. All the women beneficiaries thanked# HSBC volunteers and# Nirmaan organization for the motivational session. Helping Hand Mela by HSBC's Pune Office

On 10 October 2022, Helping Hand Mela was organized at HSBC's Pune Office. Women students of Nirman Organization Pune Skill Center held an exhibition of handmade items at the HSBC Corporate Office. These types of programs instill confidence in the women students of the entrepreneurship development program currently being undertaken in Nirmaan,Pune centers.
