In the heart of Hyderabad, beyond its traffic and neon lights, stands Spoorthy Bhavan. To most it is “just another student hostel.” But for rural youth from under-resourced backgrounds, it’s the difference between giving up and going all in on their dreams. Over the years, this haven has quietly rewritten countless destinies. Through shared meals, mentoring circles, evening debates, coding marathons, and whispered heart-to-hearts at midnight, students have charted paths from uncertainty to confidence, from survival to purpose.
Below are five journeys born from this nurturing ecosystem. Stories that echo the power of a roof built on hope.
Rajesh grew up in Mahbubnagar district, in a crumbling ancestral home shared with his mother and grandmother. His father, consumed by alcoholism and mental health issues, died by suicide during Rajeshs childhood—leaving behind emotional devastation and no financial safety net. His mother became a daily-wage laborer, relying on a meager ₹500 pension.
Yet Rajesh held onto one thing: his dream of becoming a software engineer.
When he joined the Career Saathi Program and was offered accommodation at Spoorthy Bhavan at Nirmaan, it felt like crossing into a different world. For the first time, he had consistent electricity to study under, access to a computer lab to practice coding, and a structured daily timetable.
He immersed himself in weekend coding classes and communication skill sessions, growing not just in knowledge but in confidence. His mentor, Chandrashekar Sir, became a guiding light. During times of self-doubt, it was his mentor’s calm voice and thoughtful advice that rekindled his belief.
With financial aid from the Career Advancement Fund, Rajesh pursued additional courses that strengthened his resume. He eventually cracked the interviews, landing a role at NCR Company with a 6 LPA package. Today, he is pursuing his Masters in Computer Science at Florida International University in the USA.
What began in the narrow lanes of Mahbubnagar now stretches to the classrooms of Miami.
Santhosh grew up in a village where language, resources, and opportunity were scarce. His father was a marginal farmer turned laborer after repeated droughts destroyed their crops. His mother earned ₹100 a day, and the family often struggled to afford basic needs. During the off-season, Santhosh himself worked as a laborer to make ends meet.
Despite the odds, he dreamt of stepping into the IT sector. But when he first moved to the city, he felt alienated—his schooling in Telugu medium left him unable to express himself in English, and he often hesitated to even ask for directions.
Spoorthy Bhavan transformed that.
Inside its structured routine and peer learning environment, Santhosh began his journey toward self-assurance. With communication coaching and weekend coding classes offered by Nirmaan, he learned not just how to speak in English, but how to speak with conviction.
He practiced interview rounds with roommates, wrote code late into the night, and learned to navigate both city buses and corporate expectations. His mentor helped him design a roadmap toward his goal, guiding him with career planning and emotional support.
With academic backing and a disciplined ecosystem, Santhosh secured a role at SSNC Technology with a 8 LPA package. The boy who once worked the fields now walks into boardrooms with confidence, bridging the world he came from with the one he was meant to belong to.
In Thirumalapuram village, Suribabu spent his early days looking at his parents in the fields. His world was limited to acres of land and seasonal harvests. He had the potential, but no idea what lay beyond his village boundaries.
That changed when a teacher introduced him to Nirmaans Career Saathi Program.
Suribabu passed the selections and found himself in a completely new environment at Spoorthy Bhavan. At first, he felt overwhelmed. But the environment here—discipline, peer accountability, and a culture of dreaming big, soon pulled him into its rhythm. He stuck to the structured timetable, improved his English, and made the most of the computer lab.
A health scare during the COVID-19 pandemic tested him emotionally and physically, but Spoorthy's support network didn’t let him falter. Mentors helped him navigate hospital visits, academics, and emotional stress.
He graduated in B.Tech with flying colors and secured a Full Stack Developer role at Cloud Taru Infotech Pvt. Ltd. with a 5 LPA salary. The fields are behind him, but the values of hard work and perseverance continue to shape every line of code he writes today.
Mahipal, from Kulkacherla village in Vikarabad, was always a bright student. He scored 93% in SSC and showed a spark, but didn’t know where to channel it. There was no one around to guide him on the path ahead.
That changed when he discovered Nirmaans Vidya Helpline and, through it, the DRDA scholarship program. He joined a reputed corporate junior college in Hyderabad, graduated with another 93% in Intermediate, and ranked first in his class.
Nirmaan noticed his commitment and inducted him into the Career Saathi Program. At A.V. College, Mahipal found new confidence, taking part in cultural programs, NSS activities, and national-level singing competitions. But when financial struggles hit again, he had no place to stay.
Spoorthy Bhavans residential support brought structure to his preparation for central government exams. Mentorship from Bhanumurthy Sir helped him channel his ambitions with discipline. After one failed attempt, Mahipal didn’t give up. In his second, he cracked the recruitment for the Central Armed Police Force and is now proudly serving in the Assam Rifles, stationed in Manipur.
What was once a vague ambition to serve the country became a realitybuilt on structure and the belief Spoorthy Bhavan planted in him.
Srikanth’s childhood was marked by loss. His mother died in a domestic fire accident when he was just two years old. His father, a farmer battling intestinal illness, couldn’t work regularly. With medical bills piling up and only 20,000 coming in every six months from leasing farmland, survival became a daily challenge.
He and his younger brother were shifted to hostels to reduce the family’s financial burden. Despite the instability, Srikanth emerged as the SSC batch topper in his government school, scoring an 8.0 CGPA. He walked four kilometers daily to reach his diploma college bus stop. He was determined to make it.
Later, he got admission into Bharat Institute of Engineering and Technology and maintained a stellar academic record in Civil Engineering. Spoorthy Bhavan became his basecamp—a place where he could focus, revise, and dream big.
With help from mentors, he prepared for and cleared the GATE examination. He earned a seat at NIT, where he further sharpened his skills. Today, he works at Ramboll as a Structural Engineer with a 6.5 LPA salary.
His deepest aspiration remains close to his heart: to build a home for his fathera safe, warm place that restores the dignity their family once lost. And with every foundation he now designs, he knows he’s building more than structures, hes building hope.
Each of these journeys cost 900/week: less than a single cafe meal in the city, yet priceless in the future it unlocks. Under one roof, students learn to code, converse, calculate, and care for each other.
You’re not funding walls. You’re fueling wings.
